Proverbs 3:5-12 The Message

Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
He’s the one who will keep you on track.
Don’t assume that you know it all.
Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
your very bones will vibrate with life!
Honor God with everything you own;
give Him the first and the best.
Your barns will burst,
your wine vats will brim over.
But don’t, dear friend, resent God’s discipline;
don’t sulk under His loving correction.
It’s the child He loves that God corrects;
a Father’s delight is behind all this.

James 1:5-8 The Message

If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get His help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.

Philippians 4:6-7 The Message

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

Psalm 27:13-14 The Message

I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness
in the exuberant earth.
Stay with God!
Take heart. Don’t quit.
I’ll say it again:
Stay with God.

Revelation 3:8 The Message
“I see what you’ve done. Now see what I’ve done. I’ve opened a door before you that no one can slam shut. You don’t have much strength, I know that; you used what you had to keep my Word. You didn’t deny me when times were rough.”

Decisions become easier when your will to please God outweighs your will to please the world. ~Anso Coetzer

pleasing-God

Lord, God, Almighty, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, I am in a pickle, as You know. I planted the seed; I nourished the vine; I weeded around the cucumber; I waited on the harvest, not patiently, but, anxiously; I picked the small tender vegetables; I prepared the brine; I liberally added salt; I poured out the liquid meant to preserve and prepare for consumption; but I waited too late to taste the success of my labors; the pickles were rancid; thus, I am in a pickle of my own making.

I have no idea how to get rid of the many rancid jars of pickles I created. I give up. I am not in any way able to turn back time and correct the mistakes I made in preparing the final product.

I pray I will stand at the sink and wait for You, Lord, to instruct me, to lead me, to show me how to let those pickles go and release any guilt and self-condemnation I have stacked upon my shoulders. Please stay my hand before any further action on my part is taken about these pickles. I ask this in the most sincere and humble way. You alone know my heart. You alone know me inside and out. You alone can take anything and find ways to make good my mis-guided efforts.

Thank You for all Your blessings. Thank You for always helping me through my life … no matter what. I love You, Heavenly Father. Bless Your Most Holy Name.  Amen
