Opportunity for Opportunities

Thomas Edison’s observation: “We often miss opportunity because it’s dressed in overalls and looks like work.”

Take every opportunity to move, walk, run, jump, skip, hop … it’s a feeling that refreshes !!

Every day is an opportunity to make a new happy ending. ~Author Unknown

Who doesn’t love happy endings! Within the concept of a happy ending is the implication; whatever happened before was not happy.

Happiness at all times is unreasonable, impossible, unattainable, and unlikely. Unhappiness must precede happiness.

Opportunities are directly connected to failures, catastrophes, disasters, duds, fiascos, flops.

I’m standing in the need of one or many new opportunities. Yes, I’ve failed, flopped, struck out, choked, floundered, and blundered.

Lord, I don’t know how to correct all I’ve said and done; this is more than I can handle; I’m mired, embroiled, entangled, and see no way out.

Focusing on the problem is not helping; obsessing about the situation makes everything worse; detaching, disconnecting, disengaging, removing, freeing myself seems unrealistic.

Letting go seems easy; yet it’s the hardest thing to do! Look at how many times I’ve seen, read, and was told to Let Go and Let God. Surely I’m not the only one having trouble turning over my life events, my life, to You, Lord.

Please remove my attachment to the negatives in my life; I am powerless over what was, what is, and what will be; I am powerless over my own actions; I’m not making excuses; You know me inside and out, Father; I am tired of trying and trying and trying and getting nowhere. Help me see the opportunities waiting for me to discover. Lead me, Dear Lord; I’m lost; I want to be found. Amen

Give Up

Written by Howard Goodman

Give up, let Jesus take over.
Oh, give up, let Jesus take over.
Oh, give up, let Jesus take over, oh yeah,
And He’ll make a way for you.

Well, if you’ve got mountains that you can’t climb.
Oh, and if you’ve got rivers that you can’t cross.
And if you’ve got valleys that you can’t span.
Let Jesus, let Jesus take a hold of your hand.

Now if you got burdens too hard to bear.
Oh, and if your load is more than your share.
Kneel, kneel down, talk to Jesus because I, I know and I know He cares.
And He’ll, He’ll make a way, make a way for us somehow.

Sing it together, sing it, let Jesus take over.
Oh, give up and let Jesus take over.
Oh, give it up and let Jesus take over.
And He’ll make a way, say He’ll make a way,
He’ll make a way for you.
