and so it continues …

rainbow-3

There is sunshine breaking through the clouds today. I haven’t seen a rainbow … but somewhere one is filled with God’s beautiful colors and promises.

I am trying to break out of the sadness that has enveloped me this past month. My heart aches for the loss of four family members in five years … I am still grieving … can’t seem to shake it. My parent’s home will soon be emptied of all that they treasured; all left will be an empty shell of a home. My heart has taken a beating … yet it still functions to keep me alive and vital. I ask for your prayers, Lord. I can’t seem to move forward while all my thoughts are looking back. Forgive me for my weakness and bless me with a renewal of Your peace that passes my human understanding.  Amen

2 Corinthians 12:10

That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.  Deuteronomy 31:8 | NIV

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 | NIV

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Wonderful Words of Life
Philip P. Bliss, 1874

Sing them over again to me,
Wonderful words of life,
Let me more of their beauty see,
Wonderful words of life;
Words of life and beauty
Teach me faith and duty.

Refrain:
Beautiful words, wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life;
Beautiful words, wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life.

Christ, the blessed One, gives to all
Wonderful words of life;
Sinner, list to the loving call,
Wonderful words of life;

All so freely given,
Wooing us to heaven.
Sweetly echo the Gospel call,
Wonderful words of life;

Offer pardon and peace to all,
Wonderful words of life;
Jesus, only Savior,
Sanctify us forever.

  1. Sorry for the dark cloud Jan ! I think this weather has brought on a lot of “melancholia “ as Daddy called it !!you wouldn’t be normal if you didn’t still feel deep sorrow over the “relatively recent” deaths in your family ! I have recently experienced some regrets and sorrows over undone deeds , business and other ,as I “clean out” my condo and my office ! Chin up ! Love you ! ❤️look forward to our visit to survivors park on Saturday !
