Connection

Hold me tight

don’t let me go

tether me to Yourself

not to restrict my

actions

movements

thoughts

decisions

direction

I can do that all on my own

and I do

my tether to You is freeing

I become who I am

I thrive … grow … bloom

able to give more of myself

away

the more I give … the more I gain

the byproduct

not the goal

peace, patience, perspective

all provisions

from Your Almighty Power

connect me … tether me …

with bands of love,

with hands gentle and kind,

with Fatherly guidance …

desiring only goodness

only the best

for Your child

longing for time alone

to share

to love

to freely give precious moments

only You and I can understand

tethered together.

As the Deer

Written in 1984 by Martin J. Nystrom

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longs after You
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship You.

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship You.

I want you more than gold or silver
Only You can satisfy
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye.

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship You.

You’re my friend and You’re my brother
Even though you are a King
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything.

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship You.

1 John 4:7-10  The Message
My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.

Tether

a line (as of rope or chain) by which an animal is fastened so as to restrict its range of movement : a line to which someone or something is attached (as for security)
