Bombs Away …

Military green, elliptical in shape; they flew as a murder of black crows; fast and furious, ominous and terrifying, zooming away, then directly at us, their obvious target. Landing as a group they transformed into a blue river of gooey doom unlike anything I’d ever seen. Scattering like mice we tried to escape. Herded into various venues we were told our new assignments to be performed; death the threat. Those that complied found their work melting into the same gooey substance, no longer blue but black. Like a cancer, it marked the victim; death to follow quickly. All around me a sea of faces I did not know; searching the crowds running from this new threat, I did see four familiar faces; pleading with them to join together, I hoped we could share mutual support through symbiosis; I ran to keep up with them. I awoke.

Was this an omen, a vision, a prophesy, indigestion? I have no idea. It was so very real; the threat imminent. I have gut feelings and inner knowledge about people and situations; most are right and accurate, though it may take time for my thoughts, predictions to carry truth. My dreams have never been predictors, yet, this one disturbed me; I had to record it while it was fresh in my memory. I do hope it was just my lively imagination at work as I slept-most likely the case.

What does lie in other dimensions? Why do we dream? Is this life on a different plane than our future Heavenly Home? Forgive me, Lord, for these questions. I am not doubting anything in Your Word. In fact, there are many other-worldly visions, dreams, miracles, prophesies recorded in the Bible. Most are beyond my understanding, as are my dreams and premonitions. Jesus walked on water; Jesus fed the crowds with two fish and five loaves of bread; Jesus brought Lazarus back to life; He calmed the sea; God, You split the Red Sea for the Israelites to pass through. Joseph predicted famines, and he dreamed he would have future power over his brothers; the angel Gabriel spoke with Zechariah, with Mary, and then Joseph. The Book of Revelations can scare me with its horsemen and other descriptions of the end days.

Matthew 14:16-20  God’s Word Translation

Jesus said to them, “They don’t need to go away. You give them something to eat.” They told him, “All we have here are five loaves of bread and two fish.” Jesus said, “Bring them to me.” Then he ordered the people to sit down on the grass. After he took the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and blessed the food. He broke the loaves apart, gave them to the disciples, and they gave them to the people. All of them ate as much as they wanted. When they picked up the leftover pieces, they filled twelve baskets.

Matthew 14:25-27  God’s Word Translation

Between three and six o’clock in the morning, he came to them. He was walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified. They said, “It’s a ghost!” and began to scream because they were afraid. Immediately, Jesus said, “Calm down! It’s me. Don’t be afraid!”

Mark 4:37-39  God’s Word Translation

A violent windstorm came up. The waves were breaking into the boat so that it was quickly filling up. But he was sleeping on a cushion in the back of the boat. So they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to die?” Then he got up, ordered the wind to stop, and said to the sea, “Be still, absolutely still!” The wind stopped blowing, and the sea became very calm.

John 11:40-44  God’s Word Translation

Jesus said to her, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believe, you would see God’s glory?” So the stone was moved away from the entrance of the tomb. Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you for hearing me. I’ve known that you always hear me. However, I’ve said this so that the crowd standing around me will believe that you sent me.” After Jesus had said this, he shouted as loudly as he could, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out. Strips of cloth were wound around his feet and hands, and his face was wrapped with a handkerchief. Jesus told them, “Free Lazarus, and let him go.”

Exodus 14:21  God’s Word Translation

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea. All that night the Lord pushed back the sea with a strong east wind and turned the sea into dry ground. The water divided.

Genesis 37:5-8  God’s Word Translation

Joseph had a dream and when he told his brothers, they hated him even more. He said to them, “Please listen to the dream I had. We were tying grain into bundles out in the field, and suddenly mine stood up. It remained standing while your bundles gathered around my bundle and bowed down to it.” Then his brothers asked him, “Are you going to be our king or rule us?” They hated him even more for his dreams and his words.

Genesis 41:15-16  God’s Word Translation

Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I had a dream, and no one can tell me what it means. I heard that when you are told a dream, you can say what it means.” Joseph answered Pharaoh, “I can’t, but God can give Pharaoh the answer that he needs.”

Genesis 41:25-27  God’s Word Translation

Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “Pharaoh had the same dream twice. God has told Pharaoh what he’s going to do. The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads of grain are seven years. It’s all the same dream. The seven thin, sickly cows that came up behind them are seven years. The seven empty heads of grain scorched by the east wind are also seven years. Seven years of famine are coming.

Luke 1:13-14  God’s Word Translation

The angel said to him, “Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer. Your wife Elizabeth will have a son, and you will name him John. He will be your pride and joy, and many people will be glad that he was born.

Luke 1:26-29  God’s Word Translation

Six months after Elizabeth had become pregnant, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a city in Galilee. The angel went to a virgin promised in marriage to a descendant of David named Joseph. The virgin’s name was Mary. When the angel entered her home, he greeted her and said, “You are favored by the Lord! The Lord is with you.” She was startled by what the angel said and tried to figure out what this greeting meant.

Matthew 1:20  God’s Word Translation

Joseph had this in mind when an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. The angel said to him, “Joseph, descendant of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary as your wife. She is pregnant by the Holy Spirit.

Revelation 9:7-11  God’s Word Translation

The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. They seemed to have crowns that looked like gold on their heads. Their faces were like human faces. They had hair like women’s hair and teeth like lions’ teeth. They had breastplates like iron. The noise from their wings was like the roar of chariots with many horses rushing into battle. They had tails and stingers like scorpions. They had the power to hurt people with their tails for five months. The king who ruled them was the angel from the bottomless pit. In Hebrew he is called Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.

Yet, You, Dear Lord, are in the midst of it ALL. You, who are GOOD, LOVE, COMFORT, JOY, FRIEND. My trust comes out of my belief that Your Plan for each of Your Children, for Your Creation, glorifies ALL that You are, ALL that You have been, and ALL that You want; personal relationships with ALL Your Children, as it was originally intended. All will be well; all is well!

It Is Well with My Soul

Text: Horatio G. Spafford  1876
Music: Philip P. Bliss

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Refrain:
It is well with my soul,
it is well, it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
let this blest assurance control,
that Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
and hath shed his own blood for my soul.
(Refrain)

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
(Refrain)

And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
even so, it is well with my soul.
(Refrain)
