Spring Blessings

Dear Lord, I thank You for the many blessings Spring brings.

Sunshine dried sheets bring Spring’s freshness inside; purple violets lift their delicate heads; Mama Wren sits on her nest above our front door; Wren families choose our covered porch and front door ledge to raise their young; we are grateful they choose our protection; once my husband put up a vacancy sign near the door ledge; he is precious.

Gentle daytime breezes usher in roaring evening winds blessing us with much-needed rain; neighbors emerge from heated homes to enjoy refreshing Spring air; we greet each other with smiles winter hid; easy strolls through the neighborhood replace the forced slogging of recent months-now past.

Plans for outings into Your Magnificent Natural Cathedral take priority once more; lighter garments easy to carry and tie around waists hoping for smaller girths; picnics eaten on rock tables cool and refresh; buzzing bees hover joining our meal, zooming away to sip nectar You, Dear Lord, sweetly provide; honey needs tending, they gather pollen … dripping their handiwork over homemade biscuits-heavenly!

Dear Heavenly Father, Your gift of Spring delights me; the changing seasons provide understanding; life is not stagnant; with thankful acceptance this gift teaches me, as nature evolves, I too must evolve, adapt, adjust my ways to Your ways; transforming my nature step-by-step can only be a GOOD thing-a GOD thing!

It amazes me how You show me daily how to live within Your plan for my life. Take my hand, Dear Lord, and lead me through the seasons of my life. I anticipate the rebirth that will spring forth body, mind, heart, and spirit. Amen

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8  Living Bible

There is a right time for everything:

A time to be born;
A time to die;
A time to plant;
A time to harvest;
A time to kill;
A time to heal;
A time to destroy;
A time to rebuild;
A time to cry;
A time to laugh;
A time to grieve;
A time to dance;
A time for scattering stones;
A time for gathering stones;
A time to hug;
A time not to hug;
A time to find;
A time to lose;
A time for keeping;
A time for throwing away;
A time to tear;
A time to repair;
A time to be quiet;
A time to speak up;
A time for loving;
A time for hating;
A time for war;
A time for peace.

There Shall Be Showers of Blessing
Author: D. W. Whittle  1883

There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
[Chorus]
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drops ’round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
There shall be showers of blessing–
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain. [Chorus]
There shall be showers of blessing:
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come and now honor Thy word. [Chorus]
There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call! [Chorus]
