My Purpose?

I was a teacher for thirty-seven years; I was a good teacher, still am. I have been a good wife for almost thirty-two years, still am. I am a gardener; I have a green thumb; I still do. I was a singer, dancer, actress; I still try. I am and will always be a good student. I cook with creative flair, say most at my table. I am a voracious reader; I try even if I find myself waking-the book in my lap. I am a writer and have a writer’s instinct. I am a traveler with wanderlust in my eyes-where to next? I am a planner; I am a designer; I have imagination beyond most-I’ve been told.  I am a woman-child with much to learn. I am a follower of You, my Heavenly Father. What is my purpose? What do I do next? What is Your Plan for my life? How best can I serve You?

I struggled with sharing my words with others, my thoughts, my private conversations with You, Lord; I prayed I wasn’t in the middle of the writing; I prayed You were inspiring me, teaching me, leading me, guiding me; a voice-Yours?-urged me to do more, write more, offer my musings, Your new purpose for my life?

I think so; until I hear different, I will persist, continue, pursue my relationship with You, Lord, hoping for Your blessing, praying Thy Will Be Done. Please continue to challenge me, stretch my thinking, and lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your Sake, and for Your Sake alone. Amen

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.  Proverbs 16:3  New International Version

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life.
Psalm 143:8  New International Version

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
1 John 4:16  New International Version

Isaiah 55:9-11  The Message

“I don’t think the way you think.
The way you work isn’t the way I work.”

“For as the sky soars high above earth,
so the way I work surpasses the way you work,
and the way I think is beyond the way you think.
Just as rain and snow descend from the skies
and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth,
Doing their work of making things grow and blossom,
producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry,
So will the words that come out of my mouth
not come back empty-handed.
They’ll do the work I sent them to do,
they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.

Have Thine Own Way, Lord!
Author: Adelaide A. Pollard  1906
Tune: ADELAIDE  Stebbins

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
while I am waiting, yielded and still.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Savior today!
Wash me just now, Lord, wash me just now,
as in Thy presence humbly I bow.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me I pray!
Power, all power, surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine!
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Hold o’er my being absolute sway.
Fill with Thy Spirit till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me!
