My blog has introduced me to another whose writing, questions, and doubts align with mine. I feel validated. Her style is similar to mine. I am grateful. Her point of view seems similar. I relate. Her situation is unknown to me. It doesn’t matter. Her lifestyle surely different-trivial. Her growing up years in the church mirror my own. I am grateful for another.
One of my goals in blogging was of course to share myself with God, learn who He is, and to develop a closer relationship with Him. I have been having written conversations with Him for many, many years; but I longed to find others out there who could teach me, reach me, relate to me, touch me spiritually, encourage me, support me, and I them. I thank You, Dear Lord, for this start at communing with other believers through cyberspace-of all places!
You reach for me where I am; You always have. You have found me searching in oh so many venues; the lost but beloved little lamb. My Shepherd, my Heavenly Father, continue to lead me into places I hesitated to enter. Hold my hand as bloggers swarm around me. Help me discern those You have sent to help me along my journey. Lead me away from the temptation to think I have all the answers; most assuredly I don’t! Guide me as I seek to know You, to love You, to rely on You more and more every day, minute, moment. Amen
1 Thessalonians 5:11GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
11 Therefore, encourage each other and strengthen one another as you are doing.
Hebrews 10:24-25 GOD’S WORD Translation
Encourage Each Other
24 We must also consider how to encourage each other to show love and to do good things. 25 We should not stop gathering together with other believers, as some of you are doing. Instead, we must continue to encourage each other even more as we see the day of the Lord coming.
3-6 That’s exactly what Jesus did. He didn’t make it easy for himself by avoiding people’s troubles, but waded right in and helped out. “I took on the troubles of the troubled,” is the way Scripture puts it. Even if it was written in Scripture long ago, you can be sure it’s written for us. God wants the combination of his steady, constant calling and warm, personal counsel in Scripture to come to characterizeus, keeping us alert for whatever he will do next. May our dependably steady and warmly personal God develop maturity in you so that you get along with each other as well as Jesus gets along with us all. Then we’ll be a choir—not our voices only, but our very lives singing in harmony in a stunning anthem to the God and Father of our Master Jesus!
Why it should be thus all the day long;
While there are others living about us,
Never molested, though in the wrong.
Farther along we’ll know more about it,
Farther along we’ll understand why;
Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine,
We’ll understand it all by and by.
2 Sometimes I wonder why I must suffer,
Go in the rain, the cold, and the snow,
When there are many living in comfort,
Giving no heed to all I can do. [Refrain]
3 Tempted and tried, how often we question
Why we must suffer year after year,
Being accused by those of our loved ones,
E’en though we’ve walked in God’s holy fear. [Refrain]
4 Often when death has taken our loved ones,
Leaving our home so lone and so drear,
Then do we wonder why others prosper,
Living so wicked year after year. [Refrain]
4 “Faithful till death,” saith our loving Master;
Short is our time to labor and wait;
Then will our toiling seem to be nothing,
When we shall pass the heavenly gate. [Refrain]
5 Soon we will see our dear, loving Savior,
Hear the last trumpet sound through the sky;
Then we will meet those gone on before us,
Then we shall know and understand why. [Refrain]
