Good morning, God! We’ve been having much-needed rains. As You know, I love being out in the garden with You. The drought of this past summer really bummed me out! It followed the most lovely Spring in recent memory. As I think about this, the loveliness surrounded me and mine during the most difficult loss of Mother and sister Anne. I am just making that connection; the Summer drought reflected my depleted soul. Here we are approaching the first of February. The possibility of more cold, ice, and snow loom ahead. I am forcing daffodil bulbs in a glass vase my sweet sister-in-law gave us for Christmas. When given, it was filled with the most brilliant red tulips-a promise of Spring in the starkness of Winter. I thank You, Dear Lord, for nature’s sweet balm for my body, mind, and soul!
How I have longed to touch, see, and hear, Daddy, Mama, Mother, and Anne! I have had conversations with them in my mind. My soul reaches through time and space for real and live connections with them. I thank You, Dear Lord, that I believe soul to soul communication is real; You are with me, always and forever; my family is with You, always and forever; it only follows; Daddy, Mama, Mother, and Anne are with me as well! How blessed they are to be in the presence of Your Almighty Love! I don’t want to join them just yet; I do long to be in Your presence face to face; I long to be in their presence face to face. I know I have much to learn. The fruits of the Spirit have not all been evident in my life-yet. For reasons You and I know oh so well, my life’s path is not complete until all fruits have been eaten, digested, and become part of who I AM; yes a part of You, Dear Lord, I AM. I understand that fully.
Thank You, Dear Lord, for Your Word that instructs me, guides me, leads me. Take my hand, Dear Lord, and lead me home whenever You know my work on Earth is done. Amen
Galatians 5:22-23 Good News Translation
But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these.
1 John 4:16-21 New International Version
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: in this world we are like Jesus. [In this world I strive to be like Jesus] There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
Into My Heart
Words and Music: Harry D. Clarke 1924
Verse 2 anonymous
Into my heart, into my heart,
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus;
Come in today, come in to stay;
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus.
Out of my heart, out of my heart,
Shine out of my heart, Lord Jesus;
Shine out today, shine out alway;
Shine out of my heart, Lord Jesus.
