Every single day I have choices to make. Some lead to good decisions, some to not so good. I have made both. It is Your Will that we choose based on what we know, what we’ve experienced in the past, and what we hope for the future. Without freedom of choice, all would be for naught! Followers of Christ would never have existed, nor would they have been necessary! Your Creation would exist as a stagnant exhibit without life or purpose! Art to admire from a distance, yet complete within itself-no interaction needed. Your desire for companionship would be stunted as Your children would have no other recourse but to worship You without thought-without desire-without love!
Relationships necessitate at least two beings in either conflict, companionship, love, hate, or indifference. As a God that IS love-both a noun and a verb, that IS caring, that IS compassionate, that IS forgiving, that IS patient, that IS protective, that IS kind, that IS parental with all its rights and responsibilities, that IS all of this and much more, Your desire, Your choice to have a relationship with me IS beyond humbling; it IS beyond belief!
Yet, the choice to believe IS the simple first step to a life lived with You, for You, alongside You!
Thank You, Dear Lord, for all that You do within our relationship; you teach me how to love-both a noun and a verb! Your Magnificent Creation, is my classroom, and You are my teacher. I am a willing student! I don’t mind hard work! I thank You for allowing me to make mistakes You use to gently-sometimes not so gently-guide me, to an understanding based not on facts and figures, but through life experiences that are true and authentic! My learning style is kinesthetic, as You know! Unless I see it, hear it, touch it, and move through it body, mind, and soul, I do not get it!
Thank You for knowing me for who I am, for who I have been, for who I can become!
I give You ALL the GLORY, PRAISE, and HONOR, for any progress I have and continue to make. Amen
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20
All Glory, Laud, and Honor
Lyrics: Bishop Theodulph of Orleans c. 820; translated by John Mason Neale 1854
Music: St. Melchior Teschner
All glory, laud, and honor,
to Thee, Redeemer, King,
to whom the lips of children
made sweet hosannas ring.
1. Thou art the King of Israel,
Thou David’s royal Son,
who in the Lord’s name comest,
the King and Blessed One.
2. The company of angels
are praising Thee on high,
and we with all creation
in chorus make reply.
3. The people of the Hebrews
with psalms before Thee went;
our prayer and praise and anthems
before Thee we present.
4. To thee, before Thy passion,
they sang their hymns of praise;
to Thee, now high exalted,
our melody we raise.
5. Thou didst accept their praises;
accept the prayers we bring,
who in all good delightest,
Thou good and gracious King.
