Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. Hebrews 13:16

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:4

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38

But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?  1 John 3:17

For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed Me, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? And when did we see You a stranger and welcome You, or naked and clothe You? And when did we see You sick or in prison and visit You?’  Matthew 35:35-40

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”  James 2:14-17

Day by Day

Authors: A.L. Skoog and Carolina Sandell 1865       Tune: Blott en Dag

1 Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best–
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

2 Ev’ry day the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
He whose name is Counselor and Pow’r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made.

3 Help me then in eve’ry tribulation
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till I reach the promised land.

  1. The beginning of the post is like being in my head! I love the calming effect of turning to gratitude…it absolutely flows. As always, I am in awe of your tatlent as a writer my friend.

    1. Crisis somewhat eased … my autistic niece out of the blue asked Robert and me for $5,000. #1 … we don’t have that kind of money to hand out … #2 nobody in the family has ever asked for money. # 3 Calling sister Fran would most likely be damned if you do and damned if you don’t .

      Sooo we decided to call Fran this morning. My niece was at work. I started talking calmly with Fran and Robert, bless him took over. We didn’t want my niece the victim of some scam. Robert handles Fran well … (out of my hands ). Fran went to Wilson’s and upset her her daughter at her job … oh well. Fran was not overly apologetic to us … but we did alert her to possible trouble. Robert even went in the other room so I could barely hear what was said … not intentionally he said … but God did take it out of my crazy hands and mind. Thank you, Lord. Tracey, you and I both can see into each other’s heads. I love you Sweet Tracey. Jan
